‘Previously un-released Print’

‘A message from Danny’

This is a very rare photograph. It’s never been seen before anywhere. It is of my lovely friend, Rick Parfitt, of the mighty Status Quo. It won’t be available for very long at this price.

Before you read on, here is an extra special offer for the first 100 people who order the A2 size print of Rick, who will also receive a bonus A4 size print of one of my vintage Quo shots. We are not announcing just yet which one it will be, but rest assured, it will be a fabulous image from the glory days of the mighty Status Quo. So, the first 100 people who order the A2 print only get the bonus print.

When I was at school in the mid-1970s, like everyone else, I loved music and had a few favourite bands, and one of them was Status Quo. I had never heard anything like them before. I clearly remember writing their name on my school books (which I still have). So, you can imagine my excitement when I was asked to go and shoot them at the video recording of ‘Rocking All Over The World’ for the UK TV show Top of The Pops. I became friends instantly with the band, their crew, their manager, and their star tour manager, Bob Young. Who was somewhat behind the scenes but wrote over 100 of their hits with various Quo members.

Moving on a few decades, I was still very much in the Quo camp. I continued to work with Quo from 1977 until today. I was the only person who went on the road and exclusively shot both of their tours, ‘The Frantic Four’ Reunions in 2013/14. During the rehearsals for one of those tours, I was driving with Rick somewhere in his beautiful Bentley. I got in the car with Rick. I could see that the car was brand new, and I said to Rick, how many miles has this done? He said, “Not many, Danny, only 75”. He had, in fact, just had it delivered to him by Bentley Cars. Off we went and went for a drive, then when we stopped somewhere on the way, I took a few shots of Rick, looking very, er…Rick. This photo sums up Rick as the true ‘Rock Star’ that he was. He loved cars and here he was in his Bentley, wearing his Dunhill driving gloves. I really miss Rick. He was such a wonderful person, and I was proud to call him a friend from the day we met all those years ago in 1977.

This photo has never been seen anywhere. It is only going to be available for a very short time.

So, now is your opportunity to own one of these intimate photos of Rick Parfitt taken by me on a beautiful day driving around in 2013. So, grab one, two or three for you and your friends now. They won't be available for a long.

This is an open-edition, unframed, fine-art print. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and is signed by Danny. There are three sizes to choose from. A4 (210 x 297mm or 11.7 x 8.3 inches).  A3 (297x420mm or 11.7 x 16.5 inches) & the even bigger A2 (420 x 494 or 16.5 x 23.4 inches). Each print comes with a white border. So, the print size is slightly smaller if you account for the white surround. The finished print does not have a watermark on it. That is just for display purposes and to prevent thieves from stealing the image.

Our Fine Art prints are produced on museum-quality, acid-free archival paper. We only use the very finest quality paper for a combination of aesthetic perfection and ensured longevity. As such, we have selected Epson as our printing partner. We use top-of-the-range Epson printers and Epson UltraChrome ink.
