The Boy Outside The Pub (excerpt)

[...]George was a small kid at that point, but as he grew up, he helped out at ‘Mr Jack’s’, and would hover outside the pub listening to John’s rehearsals. George would tell John how much he wanted to make music and that, one day, he hoped that they would collaborate. Well, if you’ve ever heard ‘Kissing a Fool’, you’ll know what a brilliant collaboration it became.

In 2006, George was due to open his world tour in Barcelona and I decided to go and photograph the first night. I always had great respect for George - to write such passionate lyrics from such a young age is one thing, but he sang them with depth and meaning that is rare to find. I knew he was a troubled soul and, around the time of this tour, I had heard from those who knew him well that George was going through a rough time with addiction. I was sad and surprised to hear it. Regardless, George had an ability to bare his soul through his music without letting his troubles get in the way of a great show and that night he put on an incredible performance. Being aware of George’s tribulations makes this shot more poignant for me - I always felt that it captured George in a moment of glory, sharing joy with his audience[...]

This limited edition print will be numbered somewhere between 1-500 per size, subject to availability. All prints produced with the very finest archival, acid free museum paper. Our Fine Art prints are produced on museum-quality, acid-free archival paper. We only use the very finest quality paper, for a combination of aesthetic perfection and ensured longevity. As such, we have selected Epson as our printing partner. We use top-of-the-range Epson printers and Epson UltraChrome ink. This combination produce, what we think are the finest Giclée prints available.

Each print is delivered in an acid-free wrap and we also supply a pair of cotton, museum gloves for further handling.
